The year behind AP Lit: Baseball Edition
Hello, I am Taylor Antes, senior at Harper Creek High School. So, to start off the class, we would need to start our activities in the summer. This was not the most typical thing I wanted to hear going into senior year, but nonetheless, it would be worth it in the end. However, when looking back at the year that has quickly passed, I struggled to put to words how to tell you all what the year was like for me. As I thought and thought, I realized that because sports have had such a big impact on my life over the last 4 but terse years, it would only be right to incorporate it into my speech. So, I decided to portray my moments in this class to the trot around the base path in baseball. Follow along as I show you the ups and downs from the past year, and as the captions are analogies to my experiences from AP Lit.
At the beginning of the year, eager to see what will come, and hoping to start off with a bang.
Tripping and stumbling over the incredibly complex work of Thomas C. Foster.
Picking up speed and building confidence when reading The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini.
Turning into the second semester, however, slowing down from all of the AP practice tests.
Falling flat on my face when encountering Dante's Inferno, and injuring my pride.
Almost to home plate, but not quite, and running out of gas from preparing for the actual AP Literature and Composition Test.
Sliding into home, finishing up the year, and taking my abilities and new knowledge to college.
